Welcome to the Grays Harbor County, Washington Online Permit Center. All aspects of the permit process can now be completed online! The Online Permit Center provides public access to the status of permits and inspection requests, as well as access to reference materials and documentation. As a registered user, an applicant can apply for permits and request inspections online.

To register, click the “Sign Up” button in the top right corner of this screen and follow the instructions. 

Note: The online dashboard can be translated into your preferred language by using the Google "Select Language" drop down feature in the upper right hand corner of this page.

 


ONLINE SERVICES:

  • Apply for Building, Planning, Environmental Health, and Public Works Permits and Approvals.
  • Check the status of an application.
  • Pay fees.
  • Request an inspection and view inspection results.
  • Download and print approved permits and related documents.
  • Review current and historic permit information.
  • Search and review parcel information.

 


HOW TO GET STARTED:

To begin the permit process, create a profile by clicking the “Sign Up” button and follow the instructions. A Permit Coordinator can be contacted using the above support information if you need help.

Prior to submitting your application, check out our application checklists in the Document Center to ensure you have all the required components of your project. An incomplete application, inaccurate submittals, or applications submitted out of order will delay the review process.  

 


PERMIT PROCESS:

The permitting process is setup in STEPS designed to guide you through the process. You will be notified when you project is ready to proceed to the next step both in your portal account along with email notifications.

OUR TIMELINES:

Each permit type has different requirements and review periods. For current estimated timelines, please contact a Permit Coordinator using the above support contact information

Permits are not valid until approved, paid for and issued. 

 


INSPECTION REQUEST SCHEDULING:

Planning and Building related inspections are scheduled through the online portal. Please note the cutoff time for next day inspection requests is 12:00 a.m.  Most inspections are conducted between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Inspectors will be available to contact between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Same day inspections will not be accepted.

Note: Septic inspections are not scheduled through the online portal. You must call or email Environmental Health when the site has been properly prepared for inspection.

Permitting information for properties located within unincorporated Grays Harbor County can be researched with the Parcel Search tool above, by using the Reports feature below, or by submitting a Public Records Request

Note: Building Permits issued prior to July 20, 2022, are located here.

NOTE: Online registration requires an access code to link your permits to your portal account. If you were not given an access code at the time of application and you aren't able to view certain applications in your portal, please contact a Permit Coordinator using the above support contact information.
