Welcome to the Grays Harbor County Online Permit Center.  The entire permitting process can be completed online, including submitting applications, paying fees, tracking permit status, requresting inspections, and downloading approved documents. 

To get started, click the “Sign Up” button in the upper-right corn?er to create an account.

Language Assistance: Use the Google "Select Language: feature in the upper-right corner of the page to translate the portal into your preferred language.

Online Services

  • Apply for Building, Planning, Environmental Health, and Public Works Permits and Approvals.
  • Check application status

  • Download approved permits and documents
  • Review current and historic permit records

Getting Started

1. Create an account by selecting "Sign Up."

2. Review application checklists in the Document Center before applying.

3. Submit your application online.

Incomplete applications or missing document smay delay the review process. 

 

Permit Process

Permits are reviewed in a series of STEPS.  You will recieve portal and email notifications when your project is ready to move to the next step.

Inspections

Planning & Building:

Most Planning and Building inspections can be requested through the online portal. 

  • Inspection requests must be submitted before 12:00 a.m. for next-business-day inspections.?
  • Same-day inspections are not available.
  • Specific inspection times cannot be scheduled or guaranteed. 
  • Final inspections cannot be requested through the online portal. Please contact a Permit Coordintor directly to schedule a final inspection. 

Environmental Health:

Septic inspections are not scheduled through the online portal and must be arranged directly with Environmental Health once the site has been properly prepared. 

Public Works:

Public Works inspections are not scheduled through the online portal and must be arranged directly with either a Permit Coordinator or the Road Area Supervisor once the site has been properly prepared for inspection.

 

 

Reports

Permitting information for properties located within unincorporated Grays Harbor County can be researched with the Parcel Search tool above, by using the Reports feature below, or by submitting a Public Records Request. 

Note: Building Permits issued prior to July 20, 2022, are located here.
